Falconets 90 minutes away from France 2018, beat South Africa 2-0

Nigeria's U-20 female football team Falconets is 90 minutes away from France 2018 World Cup after whipping hosts  Basetsana of South Africa 2-0 on Saturday.

The match played at the  Peter Makomba stadium, Polokwane is the first leg final fixture of the Under 20 World Cup qualifiers.

The Christopher Danjuma girls found a rather relaxed game inspite of the water breaks called out by the hosts in the 24th and 67th minute.

The space of five minutes in the first half was enough to snatch the needed three points when Rasheedat Ajibade opened scoring 30 minutes into the game.

Teammate Anam Imo got the ball behind the net five minutes later leaving Basetsana's goalkeeper Mapaseka Mpuru helpless.

However, the home side almost got a quick response through top scorer Linda Motlhalo three minutes later but her strike from free kick spot went wide.

In another goal attempt, Imo breezes past Basetsana goalkeeper but her finish came off the crossbar in the 52nd minute.

Basetsana's best chance came nine minutes to the end of regulation time through substitute Khanya Nxesi but visitors goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnodozie denied her to preserve her side.

The return leg will hold in Nigeria in a forth night.
