Falcons: NFF to unveil coach next week, team to begin camping ahead of WAFU

 The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to unveil the long awaited Super Falcons head coach by next week, an official has said.

Bitrus Bewarang, NFF's Technical Director said on Saturday that the team would also begin camping ahead of the maiden West African Football Union (WAFU) Women's Cup.

" The process of getting a coach for Falcons has been on and giant strides have been made. By next week, the coach will be unveiled.

"Meanwhile the team will begin camping in Abuja on Monday or Tuesday next week for the WAFU event," he said.

Bewarang added that the tournament would help improve women's football in the region adding that "the game is to be enjoyed by all including the ladies".

American coach Randy Waldrum  was in line to take over the Falcons job before he opted to join the University of Pittsburg.

The African champions is drawn in Group B alongside Togo, Benin and Senegal while  Hosts Ivory Coast will take on Niger, Burkina Faso and Ghana in Group A.

The maiden edition is scheduled for Feb. 14 to Feb. 24, 2018.
