Kwara United FC involved in road accident

Kwara United FC was involved in a road accident on their way back to Ilorin from Lagos on Wednesday.

The team participated in the just concluded Bet9ja Super 4 Nigeria National League (NNL) tournament at the Soccer Temple Agege stadium where they finished third place.

Bako Ibrahim, the team’s Secretary and Abdulwaheed Bibire, media officer confirmed the incident.

Bibire said the incident occurred along the Ojo Ibadan expressway.

``The coaster bus conveying the Harmony boys who are on their way from Lagos ran into a parked trailer in an attempt to dodge an over speeding vehicle from the other end of the road.
``Three out of the people onboard sustained various degrees of injuries and have since been taken to a hospital for medical attention.

``Meanwhile the remaining members of the team have since being arranged into another bus enroute Ilorin,’’ he said.

The team will take on Niger Tornadoes on Match Day One, Jan. 14 to begin their campaign at the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
