U-20 WWC Qualifiers: Goals rain as Falconets secure ticket to France

Without breaking sweat, the Falconets sealed their ninth appearance at the 2018 Under 20 Women's World Cup in France, after hammering the Basetsanas of Southfrica 6-0 on Saturday.

Nigeria joins the Black Princesses of Ghana as Africa's torchbearers, following their 8-0 victory on aggregate in the final qualifying match at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin.

Brilliant Falconets took to scoring seven minutes into the game through Gift Monday following Rasheed Ajibade's assist.

Usual suspect Ajibade in the 21st minute rounded up Basetsana's goalkeeper Mapaseka Mpuru and scored the second after a pass from Monday Gift.

Anam Imo, however created the third five minutes later, finishing off a rebound after Folashade Ijamilusi's effort hit the woodwork.

Not tired of gracing the score sheet, Ajibade got her brace, tapping in from close range via a great pass from Ijamilusi in the 32nd minute.

Six minutes to half time, Monday pulls her second as Nigeria goes 5-0 up.

The Basetsana's were close to pulling a consolation goal through 54' Sibulele Holweni in the 54th minute, but  goes one on one with Goalkepper Chiamaka Nnadozie who made a brilliant stop.

Monday was however sent off for a foul after receiving a second yellow card in the 71st minute before Imo grabbed another goal two minutes later.

Meanwhile Ghana defeated Cameroon 3-0 (4-1) on aggregate to take the second spot for the continent.
