WAFU Women’s Cup: Ajibade, Igbinovia, 33 others invited to Falcons camp

Falconets’ Rasheedat Ajibade, midfielder Osas Igbinovia and 33 others were on Wednesday invited to the Super Falcons’ camp ahead of the upcoming West African Football Union (WAFU) Women’s Cup competition.

The Communications Department of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), in a statement, listed the players to include veterans Joy Jegede and Mariam Ibrahim, and junior internationals Gift Monday, Anam Imo and Mary Ologbosere.

The camp will be an opportunity for new Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby to formally know his players.

Also, the competition is expected to provide an opportunity for Dennerby and his assistants to bond with the players they will be working with going forward.

The NFF, in its statement, urged the players to report at the Serob Legacy Hotel in Abuja on Thursday with their international passports.

The competition is billed for Feb. 10 to Feb. 24 in Cote d’Ivoire with Nigeria tackling Benin Republic, Senegal and Togo in Group B.

Meanwhile hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic will battle it out in Group A.
